Local Government, Cities

Community policing, recognizing that police rarely can solve public safety problems alone, encourages interactive partnerships with relevant stakeholders. One of the most relevant player in the field of community policing is the local government. Law enforcement organizations can partner with a number of other government agencies to identify community concerns and offer alternative solutions. Examples of agencies include legislative bodies:

• Prosecutors
• Public works departments
• Neighbouring and law enforcement agencies
• Health and human services
• Child support services
• Ordinance enforcement
• Schools
• Housing

In Cape Town South Africa we run our community policing project in close collaboration with the support and cooperation of officials of the City of Cape Town’s Executive Managementteam of Safety and Security. Read more.
